A streamlined, performance fit
To determine the best size for your dog, measure around the widest part of your dog's chest/rib cage then compare it to the table below - similar to how you would do your own chest measure.
It is important not to use saddlebag capacity as your only sizing consideration. Consider your dog's fitness level, age, joint health and frame when filling the rucksack.
The Approach Pack should fit comfortably yet snugly to ensure it remains stable on your dog's back.
If your dog's measure is an ‘in-between size' choose the smaller pack for less bulk.
When you fill the panniers, make sure you balance the load equally on each side to stop the bag from shifting.

This Harness/Pack is great, very easy to put on and comfortable for the dog. Just make sure that you get the front part right over the shoulders so the pack doesn't lean right or left making it uncomfortable for the dog. It has two places to clip the leash, the one at the front is great if your dog is walking right by you, but if he starts to pull away or continues to want to go faster use the back clip. This clip gives you more leverage to stop the dog with out hurting him/her. The two side bags are great for water, food we also put a shammy towel in to wet down and put over the dog to help keep him cool.
I got this for my greyhound and he loves it, I think it reminds him of the racing silks. The medium fits him like a glove and is very adjustable. We haven't made any trips with it yet but it seems to be very well made and is well padded so hopefully it won't make any hot spots. His tail started wagging as soon as he got it on, I can't wait to take a trip and see how it does on the trail.
